The category had to be explained before it could be sold.
The situation
A high-protein staple food brand selling on its own store, marketplaces and quick commerce. Demand existed, but shoppers had to understand a new product before adding it to a basket. Ad spend grew faster than the ads could explain the product. The cost of winning each customer kept rising.
What we ran
- Organised campaigns by how ready shoppers were to buy. New visitors and interested shoppers no longer competed for the same budget.
- Moved the product benefit into the first three seconds of every ad — the category needed teaching, not another lifestyle shot.
- Kept testing ad openings and messages, with clear rules for stopping weak ads. Used the winners to shape new ads.
- Improved product pages and checkout so visitors from ads weren't lost at the last step.
